You all know that I always defend that skincare should be in first place in our daily care, right?! In my opinion there is no makeup that looks beautiful if your skin is dehydrated, it’s no wonder that one of the most sought after beauty trends of 2020 is skincare treatments. We are in an age where less is more and that’s true for fashion as well as the world of beauty.

Brands are increasingly betting on lightweight foundations, with minimal coverage and when it comes to creating makeup, the wave is to create something with fresh skin, eyebrows and eyes as natural as possible. The makeup in 2019 and 2020 arrived only to highlight what we have most beautiful, without contours and exaggerated layers of products. And for this trend to work, we have to care, clean and moisturize the skin daily.

It is no wonder that one of Yelp’s most researched subjects and services in the last year, is skincare treatments. So get ready to see a lot of fresh makeup, and if you can, invest in skincare products and treatments. If you can’t make a big investment now, bet on the basics: cleanser, cleansing tonic, moisturizer and sunscreen, only these products, used daily, will make a big difference in your skin.

With my intense work schedule, many trips and without having a stabilized routine, I like to take a night to do what I call, SPA DAY. Having a special moment just for me, to take care of myself, makes this day-to-day rush a little lighter. After all, it is always good to reserve these moments of self-care to recharge our energies, don’t you think?

In this self-care routine I always make it a point to take a very relaxing bubble bath, I do a facial mask and I take this time to wash my hair and do an intense hydration for the strands, which suffers a lot with hairdryer, flat iron and curler on a daily basis. For this, I have loved using the new Pantene line called: The Castor Oil Collection, which was created especially to protect and repair damaged hair. Castor oil, is rich in vitamin E and is a natural moisturizer that strengthens and leaves the hair silky. My hair is very fine, so it gets dry easily and this line has helped me a lot to bring the hair back to life.

This collection is free of sulfates, parabens, dyes and mineral oils and consists of 3 products: the Shampoo that can be used regularly to clean, strengthen and protect hair; the Conditioner that nourishes and restores the hair leaving it with a silky shine; and the Night Repair Serum, perfect to use before bed on days when the hair is looking drier. Moreover, it is a fast absorption serum that repairs overworked hair, restoring the health and shine of the strands. I love to use it after those event days when I used the flat or curling iron a lot. It really gives another life to the strands!

And of course, besides the hair, I take advantage of this moment to exfoliate my body and finish off with a complete facial routine.

Hello, everyone! That Madrid is a delight, vibrant and super elegant city is nothing new. The good news is that the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid will open its doors soon, in a wonderful historic building, after undergoing a gigantic seven-year remodeling. Imagine how careful! I was there at the end of last year, and hoped it was ready, but it was in the finishing touches. Finally, May 15th will reopen in style in an iconic spot.

Madrid is at in an incredible moment. It managed to get out of difficult days and knew how to reinvent itself with charm and a lot of class. It has great restaurants, fantastic museums, trendy rooftops, good wines, immaculate gardens and lots of new things.

The hotel is located in the Centro Canalejas along with the luxury shopping gallery Galeria Canalejas, a few steps from Kilometro Cero, the zero mark from which all distances are measured in Spain. You can explore the whole city on foot. I love it! Parque do Retiro (where the photogenic Palácio de Cristal is located) is a 20-minute walk away. The Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a golden triangle around the hotel. So Perfect!

In order to receive guests with sophistication, the lobby opens up imposing and full of light. The architects took care to restore the building while maintaining all the original artifacts that were possible. Its so beautiful. The Four Seasons Madrid has 200 brand new accommodations with impeccable decor. The spa will be the largest in the city, with four floors, eight treatment rooms, beauty salon, gym and indoor pool with natural light. We deserve it, right?

The cuisine of Brasserie Dani will be led by celebrity chef Dani Garcia (who has 3 Michelin stars!!!), with Andalusian cuisine and panoramic views of the city. There will also be a gastrobar with traditional Spanish tapas with an Asian touch.

I already want to return to the Spanish capital. A charming city that will soon have even more glamor with the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid.

Hello, my people! Did you start the new decade on the right foot? I hope 2020 will come to brighten everyone’s life. So let’s travel? A doubt that is always up in the air is how to pack a damn suitcase. And for a Muslim country, like Egypt, where I was last month (and loved it!!), the uncertainties increase even more. Do you have to cover your hair? Dresses or pants? Overlaying clothes? But what about the heat? How do you do it?

Entering a country of a different culture from ours requires a lot of respect. You have to fit the context. The predominant religion of Egypt is Islam, but they are not radical with tourists. Several times a day you will hear the call of the muezzin echoing from the speakers of the mosques announcing the time of prayer. Men and women circulate in robes that cover the whole body. Women wear scarves covering their hair, especially in smaller towns.

Westerners who visit Egypt do not need to cover their hair. But to show respect for local traditions it is worth wearing long skirts, loose dresses, pantaloons and clothes that do not mark the body. Tunic or overlaid shirt is always a good option. Avoid necklines.

My little secret… Pashminas and scarves are great coadjuvants. They help in any situation, whether it’s a cold one, to pump up your look or even to throw over the hair and cover the shoulders in any eventuality. Even so, our outfits attract attention. There’s always someone looking and risking asking for a photo.

1. JAPAN. A country that is enchanted by its kindness, safety, cleanliness, cuisine and above all the perfect marriage between tradition and technology. By 2020 it will host the Olympic Games and be targeted worldwide. Start with Tokyo and stay at the sensational Aman Tokyo. Also include Kyoto, Nara and Hiroshima in your itinerary.

2. EGYPT. Pharaoh’s Land has a historical legacy that impresses anyone. It is safe to say that the only one of the Seven Wonders still in the world is in Cairo: the Pyramids of Giza. The time is right to travel through Egypt. Go beyond Cairo and take a cruise through the Nile to see the archaeological treasures that exist between Luxor and Aswan.

3. TURKS AND CAICOS. Year round sunshine and one of the most incredible blues in the Caribbean is what you’ll find on this archipelago just a thousand miles from Miami. If you want to stay in a private paradise take a look at the super exclusive Amanyara. Pure luxury surrounded by blue!

4. SPAIN. This is a country that has everything to please. If you want beautiful beaches, there is! If you want big urban centers with good museums, there is! If you want art, there is plenty! If cooking is what you crave, there is too. At least two weeks are needed to explore a little of this country so full of character: Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Ronda, Malaga, Ibiza, Formentera, Majorca, Menorca and so on …

5. ARGENTINA. Wonderful wines, exquisite cuisine, ski resorts, beautiful lakes, penguins and glaciers are just a little of what you’ll find in this peculiar country where the world ends. Start in Buenos Aires, stretch to Mendoza, Bariloche, Ushuaia and don’t miss the glaciers of El Calafate at all, you will be dazzled by the magnificence of Mother Nature.

Now just choose the destination and schedule the trip. Which one do you prefer?

Olá, minha gente! Estamos na semana do Natal. Tempo de amor, de paz, de generosidade, de respeito, de compreensão, de alegria, de esperança e de agradecer pelas estradas que trilhamos nesse ano. Por isso compartilho hoje com vocês um cantinho do mundo muito especial, o hotel Sofitel Legend Old Cataract, no Egito.

Esse lendário hotel cinco estrelas fica em Aswan, ao sul do Egito e é cheio de histórias para contar. Foi construído em 1899 para receber as personalidades que frequentavam a cidade durante a construção da barragem de Aswan, uma obra faraônica feita para conter a fúria do rio Nilo que vez ou outra inundava a região e causava muitos estragos. Muita gente importante se hospedou no hotel, dentre eles: Lady Di, Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill quando ainda era muito jovem e Agatha Christie. Aliás, ela foi uma das responsáveis por tornar o hotel super badalado, pois ela passou seis meses com o marido no hotel e enquanto ele trabalhava na barragem, ela escrevia o livro Morte no Nilo, que mais tarde foi para as telas e teve boa parte filmada ali. Inclusive pode ser assistido no próprio hotel, o que recomendo.

O hotel, às margens do Nilo, é uma mistura de volta no tempo com set de filmagem. Me senti entrando num daqueles brinquedos dos parques da Disney onde um barquinho passeia pelo rio e vez ou outra aparece um elefante ou hipopótamo. É sensacional! Não esperava encontrar um hotel tão especial no Egito.

O lobby encanta tanto pelo perfume delicioso e pelos arranjos de flores como pela arquitetura. Salões de pé direito alto com belos arcos mouros, lustres imponentes, tapetes persas, ambientes sofisticados e um astral misterioso. Da varanda, a ilha Elefantina, a Tumba de Aga Khan III e o movimento constante das feluccas pelo Nilo hipnotizam qualquer um. Sabe um daqueles lugares de onde você não consegue sair? É exatamente assim. Espetacular.

O hotel tem duas alas, a Palace que é essa parte histórica mais antiga (e a qual recomendo!) e a parte mais nova se chama Nilo. A piscina externa é ponto alto do hotel. Tem borda infinita e convida ao dolce far niente. O spa também é delicioso com sauna turca, piscina aquecida e um belo cardápio de massagens. Além disso, o hotel tem vários restaurantes muito bons.

Em Aswan vale visitar o Templo de Philae (dedicado a deusa Ísis), uma vila de núbios, o Obelisco Inacabado e fazer um bate e volta até Abu Simbel para ver o Templo de Ramsés e de sua esposa favorita Nefertari.

Com essa dica preciosa do Egito, onde viveu uma das civilizações mais importantes do mundo, desejo um Feliz Natal para todos vocês!

Who loves the experience of staying charming and exclusive hotels raises your hand! “Well then,” as the Portuguese say …  prepare your sighs and starts thinking about the next trip to Portugal. Lisbon is the main gateway for a visit to the country. Besides the location being perfect, in the heart of Lisbon, the terrace is a must, with a super view.

Driving an hour by car from Lisbon to Comporta, you arrive at one of the most sought after destinations in Europe. The Sublime Comporta is among the best hotels in the country and has a delicious mix of mountain air and the Atlantic ocean breezes. It is like sleeping on the mountain and waking up at sea. A magical and enchanted place. Surrounded by greenery and close to extensive beaches of golden sand. The Sublime Comporta is an invitation to the good table, the wine ritual, a good reading and getting into the Alentejo rhythm: without haste and enjoying the best of life.

And now I will tell you the most glamorous name of Monsaraz at the moment: São Lourenço do Barrocal. An idyllic hotel located on a family owned property for over two centuries and bears the Small Luxury Hotels seal. You can already feel how special it is. One of the highlights is the farm to table restaurant that uses seasonal produce and the taste of local delicacies. A super authentic hotel surrounded by vineyards, medieval villages and archaeological sites.

Hello, people! The end of the year is right around the corner … and the holidays are knocking on the door. The perfect time to travel and discover new places around the world. Have you ever thought about exploring the Atacama Desert in Chile? The diversity of scenarios you see there is such a great magic, that there is no one who does not leave in awe. It is a journey to reverence Mother Nature’s strength and exuberance.

You’ll need at least five full days (if you have more time!) to explore the lagoons, geysers, volcanoes, dunes, hot springs, giant cacti, salt ridges, caves, salt pans and canyons, populated by flamingos, llamas, vicuñas and various species of animals. Despite being an arid region, its geography is very particular and has no monotony. An explosion of colors and landscapes. And when night falls you will have the most starry sky on the face of the earth. A real show with the constellations seeming to be within reach and the stars streaking through the darkness without ceremony.

The Atacama Desert is located in northern Chile and occupies an area of almost a thousand kilometers between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. It is considered the highest and driest desert in the world. That’s why you’ll have many temperature variations throughout the day, ranging from 0 to 35 degrees Celsius with ease.

To get to Atacama you need to take two flights (one to Santiago de Chile and the other to Calama) and a 1h15 hour drive to the hotel. Alto Atacama is a hotel that has everything to please. The architecture is fully integrated with nature. It was built next to the ruins of Pukara Quitor, in adobe, to get in tune with the red stones that surround it. It has only 42 charming accommodations, 6 swimming pools, spa and great service. Alto Atacama is only 3 kilometers from the village of São Pedro de Atacama (you can ride the bicycles the hotel offers guests or by van) and offers more than 35 tours.

You can’t leave out of these tours: El Tatio Geyser, Puritama Thermal Springs, Salt Mountains, Moon Valley, Death Valley, Tara Salt Flats, Atacama Salt Flats and Altiplano Lagoons. And if you are feeling extra adventurous, you can climb one of the many volcanoes in the region and stretch to the Uyuni Saltpan in Bolivia.

Write down all these tips with love because the Atacama Desert is a must-see. On your way back, take a break in Santiago de Chile at the friendly Magnolia hotel, which occupies an old, recently restored mansion.

It had been a long time since a destination had aroused as much interest as Egypt. A thousand questions! Much curiosity from you all about this ancient history, about the mysteries of the pyramids, about the powerful life of the pharaohs, about the hieroglyphic writing on the tomb and temple walls. It’s a time travel, really. Sensational!

I chose Egypt to celebrate my birthday and it was perfect. A destination that I dreamed of visiting from school books and realized that many people have the same dream.  Do you as well? I’ll tell you that it’s worth the trip if you haven’t gone yet.

Cairo is often the gateway to Egypt, a huge country in North Africa. You have to have seen it, yes. It can be done on arrival at Cairo Airport “Visa on Arrival” in a few minutes and costs $25 per person.

The pyramids are the number one reason for a trip to Egypt. After all, they are the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world still in existence and have survived virtually intact over 4,000 years of construction. It is said that there are over 100 pyramids in Egypt. I visited the Saqqara complex which includes the Djoser Pyramid or Stepped Pyramid (first built in Egypt), the Unas Pyramid (where I entered the tomb with sarcophagus), some tombs of priests and Pharaoh Teti’s daughter Princess Idut and a corridor of colonnades. But what left me with my jaw dropped was the Great Pyramids of Giza, which today are practically inside the city. I was delighted and very perplexed. In the same area are the pyramids of Cheops (the father), Chefren (the son) and Mikerinos (the grandson). Imagine that the largest of them is the height of a 50-story building and was built around 2,500 BC. Each block of stone used in the building weighed two and a half tons. How did they lift these stones so long ago? The theories are many. Whatever it is … it’s amazing. The Sphinx, a strange lion-bodied figure with a human face, was built near the two smaller pyramids on a single block of stone. Shocking.

I stayed at the wonderful Four Seasons hotel at The First Residence because it is closer to the pyramids (on clear days I could see them through the bedroom window) and knowing that in Cairo a good hotel is critical in terms of safety, service and cleanliness. I hired the driver and guide services from Horus Viagens to accompany me (essential in Cairo) and highly recommend it! My guide was an Egyptologist who spoke Portuguese as well as Arabic and English.
